John was the Chairman of Broxtowe Conservative Association pre-2013. He has lived in Greasley for the past 42 years with his wife Margaret and their 2 children.
Before retiring John worked for over 35 years in the public sector as a science teacher and as an Assistant Head in a large Comprehensive School in Chesterfield. John is Chairman of Brinsley Parish Council as well as serving until recently on Greasley Parish Council.
John is the Vice-Chair of the Communities and Place Committee. He also serves on the Children and Young People Committee, and Governance and Audit committee. John is the County Council’s representative on the Governors of Portland College. In 2017 John served as the Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council.
John enjoys travelling and spending time with his family. He is a member of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, enjoys watching cricket at Trent Bridge and is looking forward to the return of play.
