This Thursday, residents in Stapleford South East go to the polls to vote for their local Borough Councillors. The election will decide who runs Broxtowe Borough Council. Local doctor, Dr John Doddy and Post Office Campaigner, Adam Stockwell are your Conservative candidates. Take a look at what they have to say.
Dr John Doddy
“I’ve been involved with the Stapleford community since moving to Hickings Lane in 1996. Since then I’ve overseen two upgrades to the health centre, most recently in 2017 when an £800,000 wing was added – making sure our local health facilities are the best they can be.
“Unfortunately, Broxtowe Borough now looks set for four years of Council Tax hikes and delayed decisions whilst Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party scramble to keep their cobbled together coalition together - instead of working for the good of Stapleford.
“So, let’s not risk a better future. Instead, keep our progress going after four successful years running the Borough Council. Together, we’ll make sure Stapleford remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
“I’ve lived in Stapleford for twenty years, attended local schools and have represented Stapleford South East on Broxtowe Borough Council since 2015.
“It’s great to give something back to our community and help hundreds of fellow residents with local issues and campaigns - like saving Stapleford Post Office and preventing its move into an off-licence.
“These local elections are so important and could decide who runs Broxtowe Borough Council. Two votes for myself and John could secure a sensible and strong Conservative-run Council and our Plan for Stapleford; Council Tax kept low, more jobs and investment, a stronger and safer community, a thriving Stapleford town centre and better parks and play areas for all.”
